The game may have already been won when Didier Drogba was introduced into the action during Chelsea's 5-0 win over Schalke last night, but the Blues legend had enough time to make an impact of his own.
On the hour mark he replaced Diego Costa in Gelsenkirchen and managed to get on the scoresheet by stroking home into an empty net, as well as setting up Ramires to round off the scoring to cap off a team performance that impressed manager Jose Mourinho.
He has already demonstrated his qualities in the absence of Costa and Loic Remy this season and looks to be one of the best signings of the summer, even if he is no longer a front line player.
Drogba managed to become the first African player to score 50 goals in European competition, and at the age of 36, he is still impressing fans with his performances and his goal scoring record, even if he isn't the first choice striker at Stamford Bridge.
Double figures on the goalscoring front could be a real possibility this season if Chelsea remain competitive on several fronts, and if Mourinho feels the need to freshen his side up.
His qualities seem to be impressing these fans who took to twitter:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Drogba hit 15 or more goals in all competitions this season, which is fantastic for a 3rd choice striker.— Angelo Katrantzis ⚽ (@Angelokatrantz) November 26, 2014
Drogba. 4 goals 1 assist. Anywhere near 10 for him is a good season.— JoЯdan. (@ChelseaEnigma) November 26, 2014
