Injured striker Daniel Sturridge has not given up on playing Champions League football this season.
The England international will not be fit until 2015, but harbours hope Liverpool will be able to make the knockout stages.
A loss in Bulgaria to Razgrad Ludogorets would have put paid to that, and after just three minutes fans may have been fearing the worst.
Liverpool bounced back from conceding an early goal to lead 2-1, before letting the result slip to a 2-2 draw.
This still leaves in their hands however, for Brendan Rodgers side need to beat Basel at Anfield to make the next phase, which is no foregone conclusion when consider some of their home results this campaign.
Sturridge was buoyant however, and took to Twitter to thank his teammates.
Well done boys!! Unlucky to concede late on. Keeping my dream alive!!!— Daniel Sturridge (@D_Sturridge) November 26, 2014
Sturridge did not feature in any of the Champions League group games, and clearly hopes to make the knockout phases.
He is due a bit of luck this season after his terrible injury record, so perhaps 2015 will be worth waiting for, no matter who the potential opponent.
