Manchester United assistant boss Ryan Giggs believes the Red Devils
Manchester United assistant boss has issued an indirect warning to youngster James Wilson that he must seize his chance.
Wilson scored two goals on his debut for the first team last season, selected by Giggs, and continues to be involved in the first team squad.
The 18-year-old has made five appearances off the bench for United this season, but is yet to find the net and with Radamel Falcao returning his opportunities are going to become more limited.
Speaking to Talksport, Giggs praised the youngster, but also suggested young players have to grasp the chances they are given.
"He’s a brilliant prospect. I’ve always said about younger players that you can give them the chance but they have got to take it. I’ve seen players take it and not let go, but I’ve also seen players given the chance and they throw it away.
"You might only get one chance so you’ve got to be ready for it."
There is obviously real reason to be positive about Wilson, who has impressed Louis van Gaal enough to earn a shot.
The teenager will get more playing time over the course of the season, but he will have to have a little more luck in goalscoring chances presenting themselves to him and making it happen, to show he is going to repay the faith shown in him.
