Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Kevin Kampl has said that he and his teammates are looking forward to playing at Celtic Park this week.
The Austrian club will take on Celtic in the Europa League Group D clash on Thursday.
Although Kampl has insisted that Red Bull are determined to win the match, he openly claims that playing at Parkhead will be something to cherish.
“This game at Celtic was always going to be the highlight for every player in our team,” The Scotsman quotes the Slovenia international as saying.
“When the draw was made, it was the game we all wanted to play in. Of course, we are going to Glasgow to try and get the win.
“We are all very confident. We’re playing well and the match against Sturm was a good test for what awaits us at Celtic.”
Celtic are a massive club, and Kampl’s comments prove that. The Bhoys have long been suggested as not being part of Europe’s elite and perhaps they are not, but there is little doubt that they are one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The Bhoys have consistently failed to make a major impact in the Champions League, but they have given neutral fans some great memories to cherish over the years.
At this moment in time, Celtic are not doing as expected in the Scottish Premiership, but Kampl’s remarks show that even when not at full throttle, the Hoops remain an attractive proposition.
