A round-up of the latest loan deals affecting Championship clubs, involving exits from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
The loan window closes on Thursday and activity in the Championship is beginning to heat up.
Here is a look at the loan deals which could be finalised before the deadline:
Watford close on Crystal Palace midfielder
Adlene Guedioura is on his way to Watford on loan, report the Watford Observer. The Crystal Palace midfielder is out of favour, featuring in only 48 minutes of Premier League football this season. Watford are on the look out for a replacement for former Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan, who they loaned to Sheffield Wednesday, and in Guedioura they will be signing another player who previously played at the City Ground on loan from Wolves.
Brighton to bring in Aston Villa striker
Brighton are looking to seal a deal to sign a striker who once cost £18 million, Darren Bent. The forward was on loan at Fulham last season, and has never seen eye to eye with manager Paul Lambert. The former England international striker scored only three goals last season, and will hope dropping down a level can rejuvenate his flagging career. The Mail report a loan move could be completed today.
Crewe to take on Leeds winger
Leeds United finally have a suitor for out of favour winger Nicky Ajose. The Crewe Chronicle report the Railwaymen are attempting to do two deals, also looking to bring in teenage striker Uche Ikpeazo from Watford. Ajose has not featured for Leeds since August, despite only signing in the summer. Leeds are also trying to shift Scott Wootton, Noel Hunt, and David Norris.
