Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has been singing the praises of ex-Rangers midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.
Ancelotti worked with the retired midfielder during his time as the AC Milan manager from 2001 until 2009.
At his prime, Gattuso was one of the best and strongest defensive midfielders in the world, and now Real Madrid boss Ancelotti has revealed just how important his fellow Italian was.
"The highest level of confidence I have reached with a player was with Gattuso,” he told La Repubblica, according to The Express.
“Rino was like a brother, even though I was his coach. I confided in him things I have never told anyone else.”
Gattuso’s best days were spent at Milan, but he did leave an impression on the Rangers fans during his time at Ibrox in the 1997-98 season.
The former Italy international was just 19 years of age when he made the move to the Scottish giants and scored three goals in 34 league appearances.
