Manchester United beat their rivals to signing Radamel Falcao over the summer, but could Manchester City land up with him next season?
Falcao is at United on a loan deal from Monaco, with his wages costing in excess of £200,000 per week.
The Colombian has scored just once for his club, suffering with a calf injury over the past month, and had to watch the recent clash at The Etihad from the stands.
United will have a big decision to make regarding the 28-year-old at the end of the season, especially taking into account his wages, transfer fee and fitness.
It's not the first time United have had to make a big decision regarding a popular South American. Fans at Old Trafford pleaded 'Sign Him Up' regarding Carlos Tevez a few years back, only to see United back out of the deal in place to sign him.
What happened next was a sickener for United fans as the Argentine was signed by rivals Manchester City and went onto score prolifically for them, and play a part in their title success after returning from his row with Roberto Mancini.
If United back out of the Falcao deal, don't be surprised to see City steal in, in fact bet on it happening.
Falcao's reputation makes him worth a gamble, and City have the cash. Not only that but United are looking and assessing his recovery year from a serious knee injury which many feel he may have returned too soon from.
Next season he could be far better, especially with a year to acclimatise to life in England under his belt, and make United regret it.
For City, what better reason to launch another 'Welcome to Manchester' billboard with a new hero adorning it?
