Reportedly Episode VII will be the focus of a teaser trailer to hit US theatres during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Allegedly the trailer will be shown in select US cinemas during the Thanksgiving period, with a limited number of theatres taking part in a “preview” for the movie.
Users on Reddit are backing up Slash Film’s claims with one stating a 90-second teaser will be shown in 100 theatres stateside. The source also states cinemas taking part will be showing the trailer before every film shown over the holiday weekend.
After filming commenced in May this year its been reported principle photography for the new Star Wars film has been completed. With J.J. Abrams at the helm the film is due to hit cinemas from 18th December 2015.
The Force Awakens is set some 30 years after events wrapped up in 1983's Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Several faces from the original Star Wars trilogy will be making a return, including Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) - John Williams will also be providing the films score.
New actors to join in with the continuing Star Wars story include Andy Serkis, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Max von Sydow.
