Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has thanked his fans on social media site Instagram with a philosophical message and aims to bounce back with a bang from his injury.
The England international started the season well, finding the net in the 2-1 opening day victory over Southampton and appearing in the resulting away games at Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, a thigh muscle strain picked up while on international duty ruled him out of action for a month, and subsequent calf and thigh injuries have kept him on the sidelines since.
Despite the on-going problems, Sturridge hasn’t let his or the team’s situation dent his confidence as he told fans on Instagram how he aims to bounce back and be ready for action in the near future.
“Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete. Everybody goes through things in their life that can make or break them. This for me is just another hurdle to jump over. Another door to break down. I'll be back soon enough strong and ready to play. Thanks to everyone for your support,” he wrote.
Sturridge is expected to return to action in the New Year and he will be hoping that the Anfield outfit are still in with a realistic shot of claiming a top four spot.
Last season, the 25-year-old was an essential part in the club’s successful campaign as he notched 21 goals and added a further seven assists in 26 Premier League starts.
