Irrational games are on a recruitment drive after laying off a large number of employees earlier this year.
According to Irrational Games’ official website the studio famed for bringing us the massively popular Bioshock series are now looking to hire new talent. This comes a matter of months after Irrational announced a change of direction that ended up with a large majority of the studio leaving
While Irrational’s recruitment advert gives little indication of what might be on the cards, it states the studio is looking for a new senior programmer with experience of multiplayer and Unreal Engines 3 and 4.
Earlier this year Irrational Games’ rather surprisingly announced they would be “winding down” less than a year after the release of Bioshock Infinite.
This resulted in a major downsize for the developer, leaving only Irrational’s co-founder Ken Levine and 15 others on the payroll. At the time it was stated that Levine and co would start a new studio under Irrational’s parent company Take-Two Interactive with the intention of working on smaller, digital titles described as "narrative-driven games for the core gamer."
This led to 70 permanent employees and five contractors losing their jobs according to a representative.
