Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says that Sammy Ameobi had his best game for the club against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Ameobi is enjoying a brilliant season at St. James' Park and his performance levels went up a notch again on Saturday, according to his manager.
The 22-year-old has shown a lot of promise for the development teams in the past, but this is the first time he has shown consistency in the first team.
"We really played some terrific stuff," Pardew told the club's official website. "Sammy (Ameobi) had his best game for us on the flank."
Ameobi admitted before this season started that he needed to perform, and he has certainly stepped up to the plate.
The winger's contract expires in the summer, but if he keeps this form up he will prove to everyone at the club that he still has a role to play.
Ameobi has always been a talented dribbler, but his end product has proven to be wayward in the past.
This season, though, the academy graduate has added a final ball to all his trickery and he looks one of Pardew's side's most potent attacking weapons.
His pace and directness fits in perfectly with the counter-attacking style which Pardew has instilled at the North East side and he has been a major reason behind their success in recent weeks.
Newcastle have now won their last six matches, and they will be looking to extend this brilliant run of form by beating West Ham United on Saturday.
