Jack Butland has shown his appreciation for Derby County as he prepares to return to his parent club Stoke City.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper joined the Championship outfit on a one-month loan deal last month as emergency cover for Lee Grant, who suffered an ankle injury in October.
Butland’s tenure at Derby was extended by a week, and he is now likely to return to Premier League club Stoke.
The former Leeds United loanee featured in Derby’s 2-1 away victory over Watford in the Championship on Saturday, and took to social networking site Twitter after the match to express his delight at playing for the Rams.
well, if that was my last game, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here, the support, staff and the players have been a pleasure to work with!— Jack Butland (@JackButland_One) November 22, 2014
Derby are currently at the top of the Championship table with 35 points from 18 matches, three points clear of second-placed Bournemouth.
