Spurs morning update: Swap deal or free transfer claims; early team news

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur take on Hull City this afternoon with just three points currently separating the two sides.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Eric Dier is likely to deputise for the suspended Kyle Naughton while Erik Lamela could play ahead of Andros Townsend.

Mauricio Pochettino is also reportedly waiting on fitness checks regarding some of his first-team options.

In other news, Goal.com reports that Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph looks set to see out his contract before moving on a free next summer.

Tottenham and Liverpool have both been namechecked in the report and there is little doubt Delph would improve Spurs’ midfield.

Speaking of which, the Sun reports that Delph is being lined up as one half of a swap deal also involving Lewis Holtby.

The newspaper claims Spurs are working on a deal that would see Holtby head to Villa Park and Delph move to White Hart Lane, presumably in January considering the latter’s current contract situation.
