When Queens Park Rangers signed Sandro from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £10million, many hailed it as a canny piece of business by Harry Redknapp.
At his best, the Brazilian midfielder is a fantastic player and a number of Spurs fans were sad to see him go (although certainly not all of them). However, the 25-year-old has had a hit-and-miss start to life at Loftus Road, making eight appearances but often leaving the field early due to injury.
The same occurred this weekend, in QPR's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
With 60 minutes on the clock Sandro was replaced by fellow summer arrival Niko Kranjcar and QPR fans were not impressed.
After the match we took to Twitter to gauge fan reaction regarding Sandro's performance, but most of the response was unsurprisingly focused on his latest setback.
Some believed the midfield Redknapp picked on Saturday was far too defensive, while others hailed Sandro's desire to play on despite obviously being injured or stated that the £10million man has been the club's best signing in the majority of games this season.
But on whatever side of the fence you reside, the simple fact is Sandro must put a run of games together for QPR if he is to help them climb away from the relegation zone.
Having Sandro is a bit like signing a 38 year old Kaka on a free on FM. Great when they play, but they just can't play enough. #QPR— Jordan James Foster (@JordanJFoster) November 22, 2014
Sandro is doing his best to come back on the pitch. Yes he gets injured a lot, but the man is trying for us. Have to give him that much #QPR— Rafael (@RafaFernandez82) November 22, 2014
Questions need to be asked about this Sandro signing. #QPR— Northolt⚽QPR (@Northolt_QPR) November 22, 2014
People are deluded questioning the Sandro signing, yes he's got injured a few times but been out best player in most games his played— Tommy Allen (@TommyAllen_98) November 22, 2014
