The Reds were well beaten at Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
When it rains, it pours. And it certainly poured on Brendan Rodgers at Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
The Northern Irishman's struggling Liverpool side visited a team that had only mustered one point in their last five games and still managed to make them look like champions during a 3-1 defeat.
All credit to Palace, of course, who put the Reds to the sword with real conviction.
But, after going 1-0 up within two minutes, Liverpool just seemed to give up thereafter.
"It was bitterly disappointing," Rodgers said in his post-match press conference. "It was nowhere near the level that we would expect. We started the game as you would want, but I think you saw a team low on confidence today.
"We're not quite together as a team, which is what we pride our work on. We need to find a solution very quickly because it was very disappointing. It's my responsibility as the manager, ultimately."
And poor Rodgers' facial expressions throughout the game said it all. The Liverpool boss has made mistake after mistake this season and is facing increasing pressure. It does not get easier with a make-or-break Champions League game coming up - and Rodgers will want to forget this result as quickly as possible.
