Michael Dawson was on the books of Tottenham Hotspur for nine-and-a-half years and had spent his best years of his career at White Hart Lane.
But there he was at the KC Stadium on Sunday plotting the downfall of his former club while donning the colours of Hull City.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino did not feel that he needed the 31-year-old Dawson in his team as he had enough centre-backs, allowing the England international to join Hull for a reported fee of £3.5 million in the summer transfer window.
Dawson has not had a great start to life at Hull and had also been suffering with injuries recently, but he was passed fit to start against Tottenham in the Premier League clash on Sunday.
At the other end of the pitch was his former Tottenham defensive partner Jan Vertonghen, who himself has come under scrutiny for his underwhelming performances so far this season.
While during the 90 minutes the two players were rivals, after the match they showed their mutual respect as shown in the picture below.
