Crystal Palace supporters were impressed by Dwight Gayle's display against Liverpool this afternoon.
Dwight Gayle's continued absence from Crystal Palace's starting line-up has confused many Eagles supporters, but the striker looks set to keep his place after his brilliant display in their win over Liverpool this afternoon.
Gayle was a constant threat to the Reds defence throughout the match as Palace picked up an impressive 3-1 victory.
The 24-year-old scored his side's first goal of the match before Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak put the game beyond Liverpool.
It is a result which heaps further pressure on Brendan Rodgers' men, but Palace will be delighted to have climbed away from the drop-zone.
Neil Warnock's side have struggled so far this season, but their attacking threat during this match will encourage supporters that a repeat of last campaign is not an impossibility.
The likes of Yannick Bolasie and Marouane Chamakh were excellent throughout the match, but it was Gayle who spearheaded the front-line to great success.
Frazier Campbell has kept him out of the team so far, but the former Peterborough United man is almost certain to be in the line-up again next week when the side take on Swansea City.
Gayle has six goals in just 10 appearances this season and leads the club's scoring charts, as he did last year, despite limited time on the pitch.
He will feel that his display this afternoon was an example of what he can bring to the side if given an opportunity and Palace fans are certainly supporting his claim for regular first-team football.
Here is the best reaction from the Eagles supporters to Gayle's performance on social media site Twitter.

Gayle is better than Campbell and it's a great feeling knowing that Warnock realises that now— Harvey Jennings (@HarveyfJennings) November 23, 2014
Gayle cannot be left on the bench anymore— Joe Moore (@JosephMoore95) November 23, 2014
We play with so much more attacking intent with Gayle at the head of the side. He causes problems constantly. #cpfc— HLTCO (@HLTCO) November 23, 2014
Bolasie deservedly takes the plaudits but Gayle was superb leading the line. Pace, work-rate, link-up play, backing in and a goal to top it.— Lenny Miller (@miller_lenny) November 23, 2014
