A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this afternoon in a match that Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to win.

The Reds return after the international break with the intention of turning their recent poor form around but that will not be easy against Neil Warnock’s side.

Liverpool are without Daniel Sturridge, who suffered another injury set-back that will see him side-lined until 2015, but the BBC reports that Mario Balotelli and Jordan Henderson are expected to overcome injuries of their own.

James McArthur faces a late fitness test for Palace.

In other news, Goal.com reports that alleged Liverpool target Fabian Delph is planning to run down his Aston Villa contract following apparent interest from both Rodgers’ side and Tottenham Hotspur.

The report claims Villa are resigned to losing the England midfielder in the summer and Liverpool are one of those most eagerly monitoring his situation.

Delph has shone for Paul Lambert’s side in recent times and there will be no shortage of suitors if he does move on at the end of the season.
