Hull City defender Michael Dawson has been speaking ahead of the Tigers’ clash with his former club Tottenham Hotspur.
“I’m fit and ready,” he said. “I’m excited because I’ve never played against one of my old teams before.
“I’m sure it’ll be a little strange come kick-off, but I’m raring to go and I’ll put my body on the line for Hull City and hopefully we can get the three points.”
Steve Bruce’s side are currently 15th in the Premier League while today’s opponents Tottenham are three points and three places ahead of them in 12th.
The pressure is on Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as he looks to get his side on a winning run following a hit-and-miss start to his first campaign in charge. But Dawson knows there is a certain pressure when you are involved at the club.
“There are high expectations at Spurs and a lot of pressure,” Dawson said. “You have to be able to live (with) that.”
Tottenham’s current crop are learning that quickly and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this weekend.
