Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen is overjoyed with what has turned out to be a good weekend for his team.
Spurs won their Premier League clash, while Arsenal and Liverpool both suffered defeats.
The results over the weekend mean that Tottenham are now just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in 10th, level on points with eighth-placed Arsenal and three ahead of the Reds.
"In the first half we started slow, then we were quicker,” Goal.com quotes the Denmark international as telling Sky Sports after Spurs’ 2-1 win against Hull City on Sunday.
“With the 10 men it helped us and gave us space. I'm going to sleep pretty well tonight. It's nice to see those teams expected to be in top four lose this weekend and us get the points. A few wins and we will be up there again.”
Tottenham did not have the easiest of times against Hull at the KC Stadium on Sunday and had to come from a goal down to win the contest.
In fact, Mauricio Pochettino’s side truly came alive only after the sending-off of Gaston Ramirez in the early minutes of the second half.
However, the bottom line is that Spurs won and are now back on track for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Whether Tottenham are able to build on Sunday’s win is another matter altogether.
