Jamie Carragher singled out Tottenham matchwinner Christian Eriksen for praise.

Jamie Carragher singled out Christian Eriksen for praise after his late winner against Hull.

The Danish international scored in the 90th minute to earn a 2-1 win for Tottenham Hotspur, lifting them to 10th in the table.

SkySports pundit Carragher told the channel  he felt even ahead of the goal, if there was going to be one player who could make the decisive impact needed for Spurs, it was Eriksen.

He said: "He was the one player you thought could do something.

"Even went Hull went to 10 men he was the one pulling the strings, always on the ball, always involved, looking to probe and find space."

The match at the KC Stadium saw Eriksen make 30 passes in the final third and 103 touches of the ball, the second highest number for each he has made in any game for Spurs this season, and the most since September.

The international break and time to reflect may well have done him good, and with games against Everton and Chelsea coming up, Tottenham need him to maintain this form.
