Chelsea faced West Bromwich Albion earlier today with Alan Irvine hoping to get one over on Jose Mourinho. But one man he did not call upon in his attempt to do so was Youssouf Mulumbu.
The battling midfielder was integral to The Baggies cause under Steve Clarke and even found himself linked with moves to the likes of Chelsea during a great run of form alongside Claudio Yacob in midfield.
In the end he stayed at the club, but Clarke did not.
Since his departure Mulumbu has certainly been a less used commodity in the West Brom midfield.
He was poor against Newcastle United in the last game before the international break so he was always a potential absentee today, after Irvine openly criticised many of his players.
Now the West Brom boss has drafted in Yacob for his first Premier League start of the season - leaving Mulumbu out of the squad entirely.
Which did not seem to go down well with the midfielder...
In the stand looool ....— Youssouf Mulumbu (@mulumbuofficial) November 22, 2014
His Tweet would not have gone down well with West Brom fans. His form has simply not been god enough in recent weeks and he must work hard to get back into the first-team.
Of course there is another reason why he was left out, he did play an international game in the DR Congo on Wednesday.
