The former Tottenham manager has revealed he has come close to going the way of David Moyes and taking over as manager of a foreign club.
The 45-year-old was sacked by Spurs after only a few months in charge at White Hart Lane - and was generally pilloried for his stint with the club.
Many have taken a different view since, however, with Maurico Pochettino failing to get Tottenham up and running.
And Sherwood says he has had several offers from foreign clubs since leaving Premier League management. It is somewhere he could end up one day?
"Since I left Spurs I have had a few inquiries from clubs outside the United Kingdom. All of them were interesting, although none were quite right," Sherwood wrote in his weekly column for the Independent.
"There was one which, for reasons of location, generated a lot of excitement among my wife and four daughters. In fact, I think they may even have begun packing at one point.
"In the end, I decided against it but if I was to take a job overseas then it would be only right that they are a key part in my thinking."
