Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen hail Manchester United’s David de Gea

Former Manchester United stars Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen were impressed with David de Gea’s performance against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manchester United have returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Red Devils took the lead in the 56th minute when Kieran Gibbs turned in a cross into his own goal, and doubled the advantage in the 85th minute through Wayne Rooney.

Although Olivier Giroud halved the deficit for Arsenal in injury time, it was too little too late for the Gunners.

Perhaps the best player for United against Arsenal tonight was goalkeeper David de Gea, who was imperious between the sticks, as the stats below prove.

Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand, a former United star, was impressed with De Gea, and so was Michael Owen, another ex-player of the Manchester outfit.

Below is what Ferdinand and Owen made of the former Atletico Madrid star’s performance against Arsenal.
