Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has backed Diego Costa to score for Chelsea against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Spain international striker has been struggling with injuries over the past few weeks, but Owen believes that the 26-year-old will find the target in the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
“Jose Mourinho’s side will go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League if they beat West Brom at the Bridge and they are impossible to oppose,” the ex-England international striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Diego Costa has scored 10 goals in nine PL fixtures so far this season and I expect him to be amongst the goals against a Baggies’ side who have won just three of their last 14 PL games.”
Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window and has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.
In nine league appearances, the Brazilian-born striker has scored 10 goals and created 18 chances, while having a 77% pass accuracy and a 82% shot accuracy.
Chelsea will be huge favourites to win the match against the Baggies, who will probably be happy with a point at the Bridge.
