Marc Wilmots and Marouane Fellaini have a healthy relationship on and off the pitch.
Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has certainly not had it easy since making the switch from Everton for a fee in the region of £27.5 million.
He was criticised heavily for his performances last term, many suggesting he was a David Moyes buy and simply was not cut out to play for United in the Premier League.
He made just 15 starts in his first season and was generally considered to be a flop.
This summer it looked as though Manchester United would sell the Belgian, were it not for a wrist injury to spurn any chance of that happening.
But he has recently shown a real improvement in his form. He starred against West Brom, Chelsea and Manchester City and fans are starting to be won over by the gangly midfielder.
Throughout it all he has also had a fervent supporter with him all the way, Belgium manager Marc Wilmots.
Their close relationship was evidenced today as Wilmots sent Fellaini a Tweet celebrating his 26th birthday.
Bon anniversaire Marouane!! pic.twitter.com/cEN8dTg6PT— Marc Wilmots (@WilmotsMarc) November 22, 2014
No many national team coaches are even likely to know when their players are celebrating such a day, so it shows the level of importance Fellaini holds in the Belgium team and to Wilmots.
Manchester United fans will hope he can continue to win them over this evening by helping them defeat Arsenal.
