Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris believes that winning against Hull City on Sunday is imperative.
The North London club will resume their 2014-15 Premier League campaign with a match against Hull at the KC Stadium.
Spurs will head into the match placed 12th in the league table with 14 points from 11 matches, four points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are struggling for consistency and good performances at the moment, but France international Lloris, who was recently claimed by Arsenal legend Ian Wright as the only world-class player in the Spurs team, insists that they have to pick up all three points at Hull.
“Hull is a difficult place to win but we don’t have a choice, we need to bounce back and return to winning ways,” the 27-year-old is quoted as saying by Tottenham’s official website.
“We know the position we’re in in the table but we also know we can turn it around quickly with some wins, so our target is to win at Hull, to find our confidence and to play with fighting spirit.”
On paper, Tottenham should win the match as Hull are just two points above the relegation zone in 15th. Moreover, the visitors have a superior team with some of the most talented players in England.
However, Hull’s chances of registering a home win cannot be written off. Steve Bruce’s side have it in themselves to step up their game and rise to the occasion against Spurs.
Tottenham are under pressure.
