West Ham United’s Carlton Cole talks about his idols and his favourite goals

Carlton Cole says that his favourite individual goal for West Ham United was against Tottenham Hotspur, and that his idols were Arsenal great Ian Wright and Liverpool legend John Barnes.

West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has revealed his two favourite goals - one was against fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur and the other against Championship side Blackpool.

Cole’s goal against Blackpool will be a particularly memorable one for the West Ham fans. It came in the 2012 Championship playoff final at London’s Wembley Stadium and helped the Hammers regain promotion to the Premier League.

The 31-year-old former Chelsea striker has also spoken about his two idols: Arsenal great Ian Wright and Liverpool legend John Barnes.

In eight Premier League appearances so far this season, Cole has scored two goals and created four chances, and has a 57% pass accuracy and a 80% shot accuracy.

West Ham are currently fourth in the table with 18 points from 11 matches and will take on Everton away from home on Saturday.
