Predicted Derby County team to play Watford: Ibe to return to starting XI

Watford Vicarage Road 2

Match to be played on Saturday 22nd November 2014 at 15:00. Venue: Vicarage Road, Watford

Derby County will be in a buoyant mood after beating Wolves 5-0 in their last game, and will have similar ambitions when they travel to Hertfordshire on Saturday.

Watford, who have lost their last two games on the bounce, couldn't have asked for a trickier opposition coming back from the international break but with no less than 13 Derby players away on international duty there could be some tired legs.

Steve McClaren has already ruled out the return of Jamie Ward, Zak Whitbread and Lee Grant for game on Saturday, as well as confirming they will assess the in-form Simon Dawkins before putting him in the matchday squad.

Nevertheless, the international break for Derby may add an extra bite to one or two of their players' games. Chris Martin, the league's joint-top goalscorer, had a nightmare against England for Scotland on Tuesday night and will be eager to restore his confidence by putting in a good performance.

Republic of Ireland debutant Cyrus Christie won huge praise from the likes of Shay Given for his performance against the USA and will be just as eager to build on that going into the game against Watford.

Predicted Derby County team to play Watford:

Jack Butland

Cyrus Christie, Richard Keogh, Ryan Shotton, Craig Forsyth

Omar Mascarell

Jeff Hendrick, Will Hughes

Johnny Russell                                                         Jordon Ibe

Chris Martin

Subs: Kelle Roos, Jake Buxton, John Eustace, Paul Coutts, Craig Bryson, Simon Dawkins, Leon Best

Analysis: If Simon Dawkins has to go for an assessment in order to see if he is able to play, it's likely the best he can hope for is a place on the bench.

As the Rams have Jordon Ibe in reserve, competition for places means this is a fairly straight forward swap.

Omar Mascarell, Jeff Hendrick and Will Hughes are likely to keep their place despite Craig Bryson returning to full fitness. And after a good performance against Wolves, Ryan Shotton is likely to keep his place over fan-favourite Jake Buxton.
