Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has no faith in Tottenham getting a result against Hull.
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson says he can't see a way past Hull for Tottenham this weekend.
Spurs are coming off a terrible run of form which culminated with a 2-1 home loss to Stoke in their last match.
There has been a lot of debate among players, staff and fans as to their problems, but the upcoming match against Hull likely to be far from easy.
Merson told SkySports: "Hull were terrible last time out against Southampton, but Tottenham were even worse and I saw them at Villa Park the week before and they were absolutely shocking there as well.
"I'm going to go 2-1 to Hull only because I have seen Tottenham recently and I think home advantage is a big thing. The KC Stadium will be rocking."
Perhaps what Merson ignores however, is that playing away from home may be to Tottenham's benefit. While he says they were 'shocking' at Villa, they still managed to dig in and get the three points.
Spurs have lost only one away game of five played in the Premier League this season, with two wins and two draws.
As vice-captain Emmanuel Adebayor pointed out is is their home form which is a bigger problem, losing four.
And Hull's is not much better - they have won only one home game out of five played all season - and it is for these reasons that Spurs will feel they can get a result.
