Kevin Gallacher has backed Blackburn Rovers to defeat Leeds United on Saturday.
Rovers will take on the West Yorkshire outfit at Ewood Park in the Championship, and the former Scotland international attacker believes that Gary Bowyer’s side have the better players.
“Form is certainly on our side but I always believe that we should be winning our home games,” ex-Blackburn star Gallacher wrote in The Lancashire Telegraph.
“I haven’t seen anyone better than Blackburn at Ewood this season, Derby aside, and that’s why I fully believe we have the players capable of beating Leeds on Saturday to keep us right on the coat-tails of the top six or right in amongst them.”
Blackburn have been the better team so far this season - the league table proves that.
Heading into this weekend’s round of matches in the Championship, Rovers find themselves seventh in the league table with 27 points from 17 games - just a point behind sixth-placed Brentford and five behind leaders Derby County.
On the other hand, Leeds are way back in 15th with 20 points, only four points above the drop zone.
Neil Redfearn’s Leeds side do have some quality and talented players, but their away form suggests that Blackburn will head into Saturday’s game as the favourites.
That does not mean that Leeds cannot pick up a point or a win at Ewood Park. The Championship is hugely competitive, and the Whites do certainly have the players to stun Blackburn on their own turf.
