Former Tottenham Hotspur star Sebastian Bassong says that things can only improve at the club.
Spurs have been in dire form since the start of the season, but Bassong believes that things will turn around quickly.
The defender, who is currently playing for Watford in the Championship, says that the team have a strong squad and a quality manager which should lead them to success in the future.
"It can only improve at Tottenham – they have a great squad and manager," he told the Daily Mail. "It is 50-50 when someone new comes in and Mauricio Pochettino had an alright start. But things can very quickly change and not go so well. But they’ll get back up there."
Tottenham are currently in 12th position in the Premier League, and there appears to be a number of deficiencies in their squad.
The lack of a potent striker has really harmed the side so far, but there have been other areas for concern.
Defensively they still look particularly porous, and there is a distinct lack of passion and creativity at White Hart Lane at the moment.
There was optimism that the side would kick on after appointing Mauricio Pochettino as the manager in the summer, but they are taking longer to adapt to their new manager's methods than expected.
Confidence has unquestionably been knocked at White Hart Lane, but Bassong clearly believes that good times are just around the corner for his former side.
This weekend the Lilywhites take on Hull City in a match they know they will need to win if they are to relieve any of the increasing pressure which is rapidly mounting on them.
