Here are the Game Awards 2014 nominees

Game of the year category includes Dark Souls II, Bayonetta 2 and Shadow of Mordor.

The Game Awards 2014 nominees have been announced. Replacing the Spike VGAs the Game Awards are to be held on Friday 5th December at 6pm Pacific Time (thats 2am over in the UK)

Nominees have been selected by a Jury of 28 international games media bodies, games considered for the prizes have had to have been released commercially by 25th November.

Jostling for position in the Game of the Year category are Dark Souls II, Bayonetta 2, Hearthstone (already awarded the Golden Cube in this year’s Unity Awards), Dragon Age: Inquisition and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Most nominated publisher this year is Nintendo and leading the award haul list games-wise are Dark Souls II, Hearthstone, Shadow of Mordor, and South Park: The Stick of Truth - each in the running for three awards.

Other game categories include Best independent, Best Remaster, Games for Change and Most Anticipated. Accolades are also on offer for best performances, best eSports Team and Best Fan Creation.
