Celtic fans took to Twitter on Thursday night to react to news of captain Scott Brown's new four-year deal.
Celtic fans were understandably active on Twitter on Thursday night, following news that captain Scott Brown had signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2018.
Brown, 29, joined Celtic from Hibernian in 2007 for £4.4 million, and has since made almost 300 appearances for the Scottish champions, scoring 30 goals over the past eight seasons.
The Scotland international's old deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and he revealed his delight at extending his stint at Parkhead to the club's official website.
“It’s an absolute privilege to extend my contract with Celtic, a brilliant football club and with such incredible supporters. This is a place that I call home," he said.
“Being Celtic captain is a tremendous honour and it is a role which I cherish dearly. The team is in a great place just now and we’re all right behind the manager and the backroom team as they build for the future.
“I will do all I can with the manager and all the players at the club to deliver the success which our supporters deserve.”
An obvious Parkhead favourite, here's a sampling of how fans reacted to the midfielder extending his stint with the Hoops.

Wasn't always a fan of Broony, but if ever the armband made a boy into a Captain, he's the guy.

Can't believe there's still an element who don't like Brown. Our team is always worse when he's not in it. Delighted he's signed a new deal.
