Kostas Mitroglou Greece

On the 20th November 2013 what were the stories that dominated the football landscape? Including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Let's cast our eyes back to this exact day, the 20th November 2014, but a year earlier.

What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?

Here are some of the big scoops from the 20th November 2013…

Sunny Anderson

A year ago today and Anderson was discussing his time at Manchester United, insisting that he was not unhappy at the club, despite persistent rumours to the contrary.

The Brazilian was struggling for regular football at the club and it was being rumoured he was considering an exit in the summer.

"I am not unhappy. I am enjoying it and I know I will be ready whenever the manager picks me.

“I haven’t spoken to David Moyes about my situation because I think I have a good situation at the moment. I love this club and I have been here for over six years.

“I am only 25 years old and I have about seven years football left in me. So I have time on my side and I am happy at Old Trafford."

However a year later and it looks like Anderson is on his way out of the club. He is expected to be released in the coming weeks or months with a move back to Brazil on the cards.

We want Mitrog-you

Liverpool were being linked with a move for Kostas Mitroglou to add some strength in depth to their front-line.

The Greek international had been banging in the goals for Olympiakos and was wanted by several teams in that time. He was reportedly available for around £7 million.

Of course he ended up joining Fulham - which turned out to be a disaster.

After just a few months they let him head back to Greece after what was a disastrous tome in West London.
