Newcastle United's Sammy Ameobi says that Ayoze Perez is an 'unbelievable' talent.
The striker, who was brought in from Tenerife over the summer, has made a brilliant start to life at St. James' Park and given them the boost that they were in desperate need of.
Newcastle looked to be facing a relegation struggle this season after failing to win any of their first seven fixtures, but their form has been transformed since and that has owed a lot to the performances of Perez.
The 21-year-old has scored in each of his last three appearances for the Magpies and looks a real find by Alan Pardew and his team.
He has already earned a lot of plaudits from supporters of the club and Ameobi joined the long-list of Perez's admirers today.
“His goal [against West Bromwich Albion] was brilliant, but you can see it in training every day," Ameobi told the Shields Gazette.
“He’s unbelievable, and he showed it again.
“He works really hard for the team – he was sprinting up and down the pitch. I was really happy for him.”
The clinical forward will be hoping to continue hitting the back of the net when he returns to action after the international break.
Optimism is high around Tyneside at the moment and they head into their next game against Queens Park Rangers as the favourites to get the three points.
A win in the match could propel them into the European places, which would be some turnaround after such a disastrous start.
