Calum Chambers has said that he is excited about the opportunity to go head-to-head with former Southampton teammate Luke Shaw this weekend.
The two players, who were born just six months apart, progressed through the Southampton academy together, playing at similar age groups along the way.
Despite being the older one out of the two, Chambers had to wait eight months after Shaw made his debut for the Saints before getting the nod, but both went on to make big impressions on the South Coast.
In the summer, unfortunately for Southampton, both players were earmarked by Premier League big boys, with Chambers joining Arsenal and Shaw moving Manchester United for a combined fee of £46million.
This weekend will bring the first of many battles to come between the pair, and Chambers told Arsenal's official website just how he is preparing for it.
''We're good friends,'' Chambers said. ''I've been with him for the past week and a half having a bit of banter with him about it. It will be a good test for both of us.
''It will be a bit weird playing against each other - the only time we have has been in training in 11 v 11, so it'll be a good test for both of us.
''He's a very big talent. He's a quality player and you can see that from last season. He had a fantastic season and he's having a good season so far this time around. He's a class player and everyone should be able to see that.
''I've just got to work out what his weaknesses are, so I'll be analysing him. You've just got to play your best against him, concentrate on your game and work on his weaknesses.''
Both United and Arsenal will be disappointed so far with their respective start to the season, but could still break into the top four this weekend if they can claim all three points.
West Ham, in fourth on 18 points, face a tricky trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton, while Swansea face an even trickier trip to a stuttering Manchester City side that will be eager to claw back some points on leaders Chelsea.
It's a fantastic opportunity for one of the two sides to reach the top four this weekend and ultimately take a big step to achieving their set goals for the season.
