Manchester United are set to see Rafael da Silva return for Arsenal's visit. What can they expect?

Manchester United have had a tough international break, with key players picking up injuries.

Angel di Maria, Daley Blind, David de Gea and Michael Carrick have all picked up knocks and are questionable.

One player who is scheduled to make his comeback is a star who continues to be overlooked at international level, Rafael da Silva.

The Telegraph report: "Full-back Rafael da Silva is close to a return after almost a month on the sidelines with what has been described as a ‘muscular’ injury."

The Brazilian defender did play in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on October 26, but missed games against Manchester City and Crystal Palace.

He has only played in six Premier League games so far, but has been a strong performer in key areas.

His 2.83 interceptions per game average is a figure beaten by only two defenders in the side, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.

Rafael's 69 per cent tackle success rate is also above Rojo, and Jonny Evans, but blown out of the water by Phil Jones who has won 100 per cent across the four games he has played.

With United stretched thinly in defence, having a league title winner in Rafael available, able to play in his preferred position is a big boost.

Jones and Evans are also even in contention to feature against the Gunners, who Rafael has two goals against in previous meetings.
