Newcastle United will be hoping to continue their outstanding recent form when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to St James’ Park this weekend.
Alan Pardew’s side have proved the doubters wrong and are currently in the midst of a five-game winning streak that QPR will have an eye on ending.
That said, Harry Redknapp’s side will have to put in a fine performance to take anything from the match considering their own form sees them 19th in the Premier League with just eight points from a possible 33.
Newcastle injury concerns: Papiss Cisse has a knee injury but has a strong chance of being fit but Mehdi Abeid’s toe injury is likely to keep him out. Steven Taylor is fighting to be fit after suffering a knee injury but he has a 75 per cent chance of featuring while Cheick Tiote is seeking match fitness following a knock.
Newcastle absences: Fabricio Coloccini, Davide Santon, Gabriel Obertan, Rolando Aarons and Siem de Jong are all long-term absentees.
QPR injury concerns: Sandro is recovering from a hamstring injury but should be back to play a part while Alex McCarthy is a doubt with a thigh injury.
QPR absences: Rio Ferdinand is suspended and Alejandro Faurlin is out long term.
