The England and Scotland captain were all friends after the final whistle of an international friendly last night.
Last night saw England take on Scotland in an age-old football rivalry at Celtic Park.
Of course that also meant two of Manchester United's most senior players going head-to-head as international captains. The United captain Wayne Rooney was captaining England while vice-captain at Old Trafford Darren Fletcher leads the Scottish into battle.
Unfortunately Fletcher only made the bench last night, with Scott Brown starting as captain. But he came on in the second half and he and Rooney had a couple of moments.
The two even had a little ding-dong in the middle of the pitch, battling for possession before ultimately Rooney committed a foul.
In the end it was Rooney who had the last laugh. He scored twice as England win the game 3-1, dominating for large periods against a Scotland side who struggled with the high press Roy Hodgson's men implemented.
Once the full-time whistle blew Rooney and Fletcher were best of friends again, sharing an embrace after the final whistle.
Next for both of them is Arsenal at the weekend. Manchester United fans will hope they battle with the same passion they did last night.
