Newcastle United’s three worst moments so far this season

St James Park

With club football currently on halt due to international matters, we consider the three worst moments of Newcastle United’s 2014-15 Premier League campaign so far…

Losing Mathieu Debuchy

Mathieu Debuchy was always destined to leave Newcastle United for a bigger club, and it happened in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal prised away the France international right-back for a reported transfer fee of £12 million, leaving the Magpies will a hole at the back.

Losing to Southampton

Southampton are a team on the up and have shocked many football followers with their results and performances, but even then losing 4-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium counts as a disappointment for Newcastle.

Goals from Graziano Pelle (two), Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin saw the Saints ease past the Magpies in the Premier League clash on September 13.

Drawing with Hull City

Pardew may have been celebrating the draw against Hull at St. James’ Park on September 20, but it could have been all too different had a certain Papiss Cisse not turned on the style.

The 29-year-old Senegal international striker’s two late goals saw Newcastle stage a comeback and play out a 2-2 draw with the Tigers in a match which saw a mass protest against Pardew (see picture above).

One wonders if Pardew would have still remained in the job had Newcastle lost that encounter…
