Nathaniel Clyne has been one of Southampton’s best players so far this season, and he continued to impress on international duty.
The right-back started England’s friendly international against Scotland at Celtic Park in Glasgow on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old played for the entire 90 minutes and gave a good account of himself, completing 81% of his passes and making six tackles.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was watching England’s 3-1 win against Scotland and was impressed with Clyne’s performance.
Clyne has been one of the most impressive right-backs in the Premier League so far this campaign.
In 11 league appearances, the former Crystal Palace man has scored one goal and has created six chances, while having a pass accuracy of 80% and winning 50% of his duels.
Southampton are currently second in the league table with 25 points from 11 matches, four points behind leaders Chelsea.
Ronald Koeman’s side are the best team defensively in the Premier League at the moment, having conceded just five goals so far.
