Borussia Dortmund could loan promising star Vayrynen to West Ham - Report

Tim Vayrynen has been linked with a loan move to West Ham United.

Could West Ham add another forward to their squad in January?

The Hammers were earlier this year linked with signing highly rated Finnish striker Tim Vayrynen, who has two international caps.

They were beaten to his signature by German giants Borussia Dortmund, itself approval of his talent.

Vayrynen, 21, is yet to play for Jurgen Klopp's side in the Bundesliga, and a report suggests he could be sent on loan in 2015.

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb report that Dortmund like what they see of Vayrynen in their youth team so far, and want to extend his contract from 2016 to 2018.

They add: "In January, however, a possible transfer loan. We consider West Ham can be an idea."

Vayrynen is a natural goalscorer, with a record of 40 goals in 97 games for Finnish side FC Honka.

There is nothing firm to suggest the Hammers have made a move, and it may be the other way round, with Dortmund to consider reaching out to the club to find out if they are interested in taking him on loan bearing in mind their previous interest.

While West Ham have three strong forwards in Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll, there are reasons why they could look for temporary reinforcements.

Sakho is due to fly out to the African Nations Cup early in 2015, while Carroll's injury record speaks for itself. Ricardo Vaz Te and Carlton Cole are also candidates to move out on loan or even permanently.
