Why Leeds should make a loan move for Vaz Te

Ricardo Vaz Te

Leeds United should consider the prospect of signing West Ham United's Ricardo Vaz Te to bolster their attacking options.

Neil Redfearn has made no secret of the fact that he is on the look-out for players who could improve his Leeds United squad.

The former academy manager has already shown his faith in the youngsters at Elland Road during his brief time in charge so far, but he has also expressed a desire to increase the options available to him.

Redfearn is thought to be keen to find a winger to enhance his options in wide areas and, if that is the case, then he could do far worse than taking a look at West Ham United's Ricardo Vaz Te.

The enigmatic winger/forward has become the forgotten man at the Boleyn Ground after the side's brilliant form over the start of the season and he could be looking for the opportunity to play first-team football.

Vaz Te has played just four times for the Hammers this season and has not made an appearance since August, leaving his exit looking inevitable.

West Ham have so many attacking options now that the Portuguese attacker simply cannot find a route into Sam Allardyce's starting line-up, but his quality is undoubted.

A flair player, who loves running at defenders, Vaz Te is a proven match-winner and backs his skill up by carrying a goal threat.

In the Championship he would be a stand-out talent and the prospect of him teaming up with some of the more skilful players in Leeds' squad, such as Adryan, is tantalising.

Leeds clearly need to add slightly more attacking prowess to their game and Vaz Te would be likely to bring this.

The transfer could be an appealing one for him. Vaz Te has already enjoyed success in Yorkshire, when at Barnsley, and the area would not be unfamiliar to him.

It is a move that makes sense for all parties and Leeds would be foolish not to consider it, if they are serious about their intention to bring in quality players to Elland Road.
