PHOTOS: The last time Cristiano Ronaldo played at Old Trafford

Today’s game between Portugal and Argentina will see Cristiano Ronaldo play at Manchester United’s home ground Old Trafford for the second time since he left for Real Madrid in 2009.

On Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo will make only his second appearance at Old Trafford since leaving Manchester United in the summer of 2009.

The 29-year-old will lead Portugal against Argentina in a friendly international on what is his old stomping ground.

Ronaldo was on the books of United for six years between 2003 and 2009, establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the Manchester outfit’s history.

The former Sporting Lisbon star won the Premier League three times, the FA Cup and the Champions League once each, and the League Cup twice.

Following his then world-record move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009, Ronaldo has gone on to cement his place among the true greats of football, scoring goals after goals and winning the Champions League yet again.

Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford as a Madrid player back on March 5, 2013 for the second leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League.

The first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu had ended in a 1-1 draw, and it was Ronaldo’s second goal at Old Trafford that proved to be decisive in the tie. Madrid won the last-16 tie 3-2 and went on to reach the semi-finals.
