Manchester City are reportedly on red alert after Lionel Messi hinted that he could leave Barcelona.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the Argentina international – who has been heavily linked with City in the past – could be back on the Blues’ radar after he gave a cryptic interview to Ole.

In it Messi said, “In football a lot changes. I have always said that I would like to stay forever but not everything happens the way you want.

“It is complicated. More so right now with what is happening at Barcelona.”

It remains to be seen what the future holds, but City are sure to be at the front of the queue should the unlikely really happen and Messi did leave the Nou Camp.

In other news, City midfielder Fernandinho has been speaking about the latest footballing wonder-kid Anderson Talisca.

The Benfica forward has been linked with most of the top clubs in England and in comments made to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, the Brazil international said, “I was impressed. I didn’t know him.

“He has trained well with the national team and he fits in well with the group.”
