Glen Johnson offered new contract - but...
Johnson has been dropped from the England squad, and Liverpool fans were hoping that they'd eventually move on from the former Chelsea man in the summer when his contract expires.
However, Liverpool have allegedly offered him a new contract - yet it's only worth £60,000-per-week, which is half of what he currently earns. Whether he accepts the huge pay cut remains to be seen.
Possible Johnson replacement heading to Merseyside - but not to Liverpool
With many expecting Johnson to leave, a number of right backs have been linked with a move to Anfield - and none more strongly than Barcelona's Martin Montoya.
The 23-year-old has been behind Dani Alves in the pecking order at the Camp Nou, and reports have suggested that he could be on his way to Anfield in January as a replacement for Johnson.
Yet now, their Merseyside rivals Everton are believed to be at the front of the queue for his signature, according to Spanish press - which could raise questions over the future of Seamus Coleman.
Balotelli warned over Italy place
Despite a tough start to life with Liverpool, striker Mario Balotelli is back in the Italy squad - but manager Antonio Conte has warned that he will be dropped for poor performance, just like any other player.
"I’m worried that people see Balotelli differently to the others," he explained. "Balotelli is a normal footballer, just like the others, who can also stay on the bench, or in the stands. We don’t need to differentiate Balotelli from the others. He’s just one of the 23 players. He needs to catch my eye and I have to see if he can adapt to our type of football."
