Final Fantasy VII has been remade in LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet Final Fantasy VII

A LittleBigPlanet player has recreated the entirety of Final Fantasy VII using the game.

This isn't the Final Fantasy VII remake we need, it's the one we deserve. Ah, no, sorry, I went all Batman on you there. Whilst I'm one of those folks who would love to see a remake of Final Fantasy VII, if only to see the world brought into the HD generation, we'll have to settle for the LittleBigPlanet rendition of the game for now. Which is fine by me, because it's extremely well-made.

I cannot help but be impressed by people who use games like LittleBigPlanet to create tributes to other games or movies. The amount of work that must have gone into this re-creation of Final Fantasy VII would have be huge. Speaking to Eurogamer the remake's creator, Jamie Colliver, said, "I have managed to fit the entire story and side missions into 31 levels.

"I believe it's the first full game remade start to finish in LittleBigPlanet's creator. I already have a battle system with Limit Breaks in place, every cut-scene/dialogue, all five material types using creatinators, all of the soundtrack, every character, boss, enemies and a world map."

Wow, that's some dedication right there. Jamie went on to say, "I've worked extremely hard on it... it took me two years." Clearly it's a labour of love, and it shows.

Here's the opening for the game below, which will show you the first scenes from FF VII recreated rather accurately. Check out Jamie's YouTube Channel to see the rest of the videos, which show the whole game. It's all playable in LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. And even on LittleBigPlanet 2 for PS3.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
