Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan has lavished praise on fellow custodian Shay Given.
Guzan may have displaced Given as the club's first choice between the sticks, but he still holds his teammate in high regard.
The American international says that he enjoys a good relationship with Given and that his experience at the top level has been a big help to him.
"For me, I’ve been very fortunate to work with him for so long now, his résumé speaks for itself, what he’s done, not only at club level but at international level.
"It speaks volumes for him as a professional."
Given has represented the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and Manchester City during his time playing so far.
Although his career is starting to head towards an end now, at the age of 38, he is likely to stay in the game and he hopes to head into management once he does hang up his boots.
Guzan, meanwhile, remains firmly focused on impressing for Villa and he knows that the side will need to improve if they are to climb up the Premier League table soon.
The Claret and Blue have struggled of late, failing to win any of their last seven games, and concerns have been raised about the direction their season is heading in.
Although Guzan is not one of the main sources of criticism in the Villa squad, as their main problems have been with scoring goals, he will be determined to do all he can to break the side out of this slump after the international break.
Villa take on high-flying Southampton in their next fixture, and the American stopper may have be at his best to prevent the Saints extending his side's winless run.
