Ian Wright's Premier League top four: No place for big trio

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has revealed his Premier League top four and there's no place for three big teams.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has given his thoughts on who he feels will finish in the Premier League top four this season.

The surprise is there’s no room for Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United, as Wright gave his response to a question put to him on BBC Radio 5Live’s 606.

Wright suggested that Chelsea and Manchester City would retain their places in the top four with the possibility of Champions League football for high flying Southampton and also Garry Monk’s Swansea City.

"I think it'll be Chelsea, Manchester City, Southampton and, er, Swansea," said Wright.

"The test is whether they can get through the periods where they'll pick up injuries."

Whether the Saints and the Swans can keep up their momentum over the rest of the season, bearing in mind likely injuries and suspensions, remains to be seen but Wright is backing them to pull it off and make it into Europe’s elite competition.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all suffered in different starts to the Premier League season, struggling for the consistency needed to push Chelsea and City at the top of the league.
